2018 in film!

The film release landscape was rather front loaded this year. All the best stuff dropped in the early months. Stuff like Ready Player One, Deadpool 2, Avengers Infinity War. A Quiet Place.

Black Panther. Had a high level of excitement all three times I watched it in the theater. It’s lost some rewatchability since arriving on home video for me.

Avengers Infinity War is pretty amazing. Not perfect, but incredible how well Marvel Studios stuck the landing on such an unwieldy, ambitious project.

Incredibles 2 was dazzling.

Mission Impossible Fallout exceeded my already high expectations. The IMAX viewing, along with Henry Cavill reloading his biceps was well worth the price of admission!

Solo, I found a bit underwhelming. I might think differently when I watch it again, but I’m in no rush to do so.

Annihilation. Not sure if it was bad or if the concept went over my head, unfortunately.

Movies that were on my list but made it past me: Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, Soldado, A Quiet Place.

And here’s how I graded the movies I watched in the theater, with my grading system below:
